Real-world tactical missions for homeschool families. Dead drops, bona fides, navigation, surveillance detection — educational adventures your kids won't want to stop.
You don't need a mission to start training. Our Field Classes teach real tradecraft skills — and they're free for every agent.

Master the art of verifying identities and intentions with this guide on bona fides. Learn how Field Craft Academy trains recruits to distinguish between genuine allies and deceptive double agents.

Distinct from detection — active measures to shake a surveillance team. Dry cleaning, the trap street, breaking the floating box, and using terrain and timing to your advantage.

Chokepoint avoidance and primary/alternate/emergency route planning, plus evasion basics — the dry-clean, breaking contact, and never leading a tail home. The operational upgrade to basic urban navigation.

What to do if you're made — the abort signal, primary and secondary rally points, the evasion sequence, what 'made' looks like, and why safety always comes first.

Offensive surveillance — how to watch a target without being made. Covers the stationary foot post, the floating box, target handoffs, and how SDR discipline cuts both ways.

Age-appropriate 'don't give up the code word' games. Stay in character, never confirm the secret exists, and practice resisting casual, persistent, and bribe-based pressure through your cover story.
Dead drops, bona fides, SDRs, brush passes — master the language of the trade. Our glossary is open to everyone, no account required.
The broader, long-term identity and life context that supports your cover. It answers: 'Who are you in this town?' — your job, your family, your daily routine, your reason for living where you live. A cover for status might be 'visiting my cousin for the summer' or 'a college student home on break.' It is the backstory that makes your cover for action believable over time. Cover for action is the moment; cover for status is the lifestyle.
A concealed, pre-positioned store of equipment, supplies, or intelligence placed for later retrieval. Caches allow an operative to access materials without carrying them and without a live exchange. Classic cache types include buried containers (sealed PVC tubes), magnetic attachments under surfaces, and hidden compartments in everyday objects. A cache must be recoverable only by the person who placed it (or their intended recipient), weather-resistant, and located where servicing it won't draw attention. Missions use caches to store intel packages, signaling gear, or extraction items the agent retrieves mid-operation.
A plausible, observable reason for being in a specific place doing a specific activity at the moment you are conducting your operation. If you are conducting surveillance at a park, your cover for action is 'playing on the swings.' If questioned, your behavior should immediately make sense to any observer. Without cover for action, your presence looks suspicious and invites scrutiny. Cover for action answers: 'Why are you doing THIS, HERE, NOW?'
A person unofficially employed by an intelligence service, often as a source of information.
A government employee who is influenced to cooperate with a foreign government instead of defecting; now working for two employers instead of one.
A person who works within the government or media of a target country to influence national policy.
